Selections made while installing iTunes are not honored. My experience was similar to the linked article. I noticed the update - deselected Safari and Bonjour, proceeded to install iTunes+Quicktime only. Didnt notice until reading the blog that Bonjour had actually been installed.
Update: So I attempted uninstalling Bonjour, and then clicked on the iTunes icon, only to see a warning: "The bonjour service cannot be found. To repair this issue, reinstall iTunes".
